The project was simple. The intention was to create a simple, techier, version of the wine bottles you can find with christmas lights in them. The project would use ribbon strip LED's, and would use a MicroController to add functionality like dimming, fading and more. I planned to integrate the stick into a cork at the top where a knob would allow for control, hidden as the bottles cap. Also this would allow for power source to be a tail down the back of the bottle, hidden from site. Other ideas had Wireless powering of the bottle from a pad under the bottle and RGB independently controled LED stips that could give a real light show.

It's always hard to tell, but the general consensus we got was that the pricing was too high. The goal was for a $10 and a $20 option. The later being the colored LED's. The idea was to supply the items needed to make fun gifts from the bottle that created the memories. Unfortunately that too was lost on most people. They were asking why it didn't come with the bottle.
