ChaosBox is derived from LadyAdas Wave bubble, the begining of her "Design Noir" and "Culture war". While I loved the concept, what I saw was a evolution larger. As a student I was interested in tools to help with lab projects and classroom education. As we started brainstorming, discussing the reprocussions of such a devices and its utility, we discovered even more, we realized its use as an anti-radio-controled IED. We chose to attempt to expand on the original designs dual band, increasing it to four, while replacing a simple 555 timer sweep control with a microcontroller. We also added input functionality. In the end what we had was a wide-band, programmable FM transmitter that opperated from 400MHz to 3100MHz. With the Microcontroller, it could act in many modes, from simple FM to more complicated frequency hoping methods. The use of VCO's could be limiting, however, they are also very easy and bring an analog nature.
